Appliance
Quality and safety are the most important elements to consider when manufacturing a household appliance. Whether your concern is protecting electrical circuits, regulating range burner temperatures, or simply manufacturing a quality device such as a thermostat, we can show you how our clad metal products can help you maintain efficiency and reliability at a low cost.MoreAutomotive / Transportation
Materials in the automotive sector have to endure the toughest of requirements. They must also be attune to the latest developments, such as being lightweight, cost effective and most importantly, safe. Choosing the correct clad metal material for your application is crucial. We can help.MoreCookware
Clad Metals can offer the most sought after qualities in cookware: uniform heat distribution and high thermal conductivity. Our roll-to-roll cladding process allows cost effective production of superior cookware that is clad overall, not just on the bottom. We can help you design a more durable, better performing product, at a lower cost.MoreElectrical Distribution
EMS pioneered the development of clad for a wide array of applications in the electrical industry. Copper clad materials combine the high electrical and thermal characteristics of copper, while being safe, reliable and cost effective. It can also protect against mechanical and rodent damage, and errant electrical strikes which can disrupt service and be costly to repair. We can show you how cladding copper can offer excellent electrical conductivity for your product or business.MoreEnergy Storage / Battery
We understand that energy efficiency and safety are key factors in today's market. Our high quality Clad Materials are the preferred choice because of their unique multi-layer properties, especially as performance demands increase for higher energy, smaller cells for hearing aids and other electronic devices. We can help you choose the best clad metals for many of your applications, such as Automotive Hybrid Electronics, Power Conversion and Energy Storage.MoreHeat Transfer
Increasing heat concerns in cell phones and other hand held devices or higher power electronics are pushing the limits of heat sink technology. Our clad metal materials offer better thermal performance without sacrificing weldability or aesthetics. The wide range of brazing temperatures of EMS titanium brazing foils can also provide flexibility for brazing and heat treating of titanium and titanium alloys - We can show you how.MoreThermal Controls
Thermostatic Bimetals assume an important function in regulating temperature-dependent variables with relatively low construction costs. Whether or not you realize it, Thermostatic Bimetal elements surround you everyday. They are used in Wall Thermostats and Water Heaters to regulate temperature, Gas Meters to control and measure flow, and Steam Traps to vent air and steam from pipes, just to name a few. At EMS, we have produced more than one hundred unique Thermostatic Bimetals that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your application.More

Thermostatic Bimetal
Thermostatic Bimetals are one of the most widely applied families of clad metals. But, what is Thermostatic Bimetal? In its basic form, Thermostatic Bimetal is two metals with different coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) that are bonded together. It is this difference in CTE of the component metals that give Thermostatic Bimetals their unique property of bending or curving as a result of an exposure to change in temperature, which make it useful in any application where it is desirable to sense and react as a function of temperature.MoreClad Metal
Design possibilities would be endless if there were one metal that provided all the characteristics we were looking for. However, the reality is there are many limitations to what one metal can provide. Clad Metals can uniquely match any need of a specific product design by offering a brand new material by combining two or more metals. This allows design engineers to have their concepts realized. But, what are Clad Materials? Cladding is a process in which a minimum of two different types of metal are joined to form an inseparable "laminated" material. Cladding Metals makes it possible to combine a significant variety of metals in a way that opens the doors of design to an exciting new world of possibilities.MoreNickel & Nickel Alloys
Engineered Materials Solutions has been producing precision rolled Clad Metal and Thermostatic Bimetal for over 100 years. Today, as part of our product portfolio, we offer Nickel and Nickel Alloys - produced by Auerhammer Metallwerk GmbH. We provide high quality Nickel and Nickel Alloys to suit your needs. But what are Nickel Alloys? Nickel Alloys are typically, Nickel and Copper, Nickel and Iron, or Nickel and Chromium, which have been combined by way of melting, or Alloying. You are surrounded by an endless list of everyday items that are Nickel and Nickel Alloys such as medical equipment, cellular phones, batteries, airplanes, automobiles, and even household appliances.More
