Position Summary:  Set up and operate a variety of ZR rolling mills and metal forming machines, working with close tolerances.  Check and order material and work from route cards and schedules.  Use a variety of precision measuring tools to perform in-process inspection and check incoming material to meet required standards.


  1. Set up and operate the mill, including roll changes.
  2. Operate edge trimmer and in-line welder as needed.
  3. Change rolls and components in the mill housing as needed.
  4. Work with very close tolerances from route cards.
  5. Use shop math, micrometer, gauges, and samples.
  6. Complete setups, routine maintenance, and other equipment related operations.
  7. Maintain production records and make data entries into computer systems such as Oracle, Kronos, etc.
  8. Wear all required PPE at all times.
  9. Maintain acceptable level of housekeeping order and cleanliness in area.
  10. Other duties as required.


Education and Experience:  High School or Equivalency diploma.  Must have ability to read and understand written instructions in English, use handheld instruments, have knowledge of Basic Shop Math, and experience operating continuous metal strip processing equipment preferred.

Physical Demands:  Heavy lifting up to 40 lbs., standing up to 80% of the time.

Environment:  Manufacturing environment:  high noise, high dust, dirt and grease, exposure to temperature over 90 degrees 20% of the time.
