Wickeder Westfalenstahl GmbH located in Wickede (Ruhr), is separating from their subsidiary Wickeder Steel Company (Pleasant Prairie), manufacturer of precision strip steel, in order to focus on their core business of clad material and bimetals. With the acquisition of Wickeder Steel Company, voestalpine Precision Strip GmbH, manufacturer of precision strip steel, is able to strengthen their competences in the US.

Effective November 2, 2015, Wickeder Steel Company passed into the new ownership of voestalpine Precision Strip GmbH, part of the listed technology and capital goods group voestalpine with about 500 Group companies and locations and approximately 47.500 employees worldwide. The company will be continued under the name “voestalpine Precision Strip WI, Inc“.

Wickeder Steel Company (WSC) with headquarters in Pleasant Prairie, USA, has been producing precision strip steel for applications such as spring steels, hand tool steels, precision bandsaw strip steel or paper industry blades since August 2002. WSC was one of the few manufacturers of precision strip steel in the US that was supplied with cold rolled grades they could not previously purchase on the US market.
